Weekend Plans 1/4 - 1/6

It's hard to believe the first week of the new year has already come and gone. The last few Christmas decorations are finally tucked away in the closets and everything feels bare, like a clean slate. This week was very refreshing. I spent a lot of time writing (I filled up 20 pages!) and sketching in my new notebooks. It was nice to take an hour to find a quiet spot in a coffee shop and pour all of my dreams out on the pages. It's time to start making them happen! For now, here's what I have planned this weekend...

- I need to organize the film photos from Christmas in my album. I love how they turned out. Especially the snow pictures. I still can't believe we had a white Christmas!

- I saw this jar idea around the internet recently and I decided to give it a try. I set it up on my bedside table and as the days go by I am going to slip little pieces of paper inside reminding me of the happy moments in 2013. Then on New Year's Eve I will dump out the pieces of paper and be reminded of a great year. Hopefully I can add a few happy memories to it this weekend. :)

- I have some new crochet projects in mind so I'm going start working on the swatches.

- More writing and sketching in my journal.

- A Downton Abbey marathon is definitely happening. Season 3 finally airs in the US on Sunday! Hooray! I am so ready for tea and drama. I can't wait.

I hope you had a great start to the new year this week! Who is excited about the new season of Downton Abbey? What are your plans for the weekend?

  1. It sounds like you have a really lovely weekend planned, full of creativity and happy things ^_^

I'm working -sad face- and also trying to get over being ill -even sadder face- but hopefully I'll be doing some knitting, doodling and planning of my own :) Have a great weekend!

  2. That feeling when the decs are down is great isn't it? New beginnings and all that :)
Don't worry I won't spoil it for you, but Downton season 3 is a corker! Here in the UK it aired earlier in the year and it was funny and emotional and brilliant. The special on Christmas Day was also totally gripping. You'll love it I know :)

  3. I am rewatching season 2 of Downton Abbey as we speak. Or write. Whatever. :) Can't wait for season 3, though I'll have to watch it online (and the PBS video player is really slow).

  6. Since I began my love affair with Downton while living in the UK, I watched it on the UK schedule this year in the US. But I think I'll be watching again on PBS. (Sometimes there are tiny edits to things on Masterpiece, I find that interesting). Downton + tea + wool = a lovely weekend plan!

  8. I love your tree pictures! Oooh bokeh. I've done that new year's memories thing except every day I would write one thing I was grateful for. It's really fun to go back and read them.

  12. Love that jar idea. I keep a notebook beside my bed to write down achievements and nice things that have happened each day. I'm always surprised at how many wonderful things happen in just one day... it's so easy to forget otherwise, especially if, like me, you're always thinking about the next thing! This year, on 30th December I took a train trip to get out of London and reflect on the year and goals for 2013. It was so satisfying to read through the notebook on the train.

  18. Ahhh I cannot wait for Downton Abbey either! My mom and I have been having a marathon this past week in anticipation of the season 3 premier! It cannot come soon enough, I had to unlike several fan pages on facebook and stay off all message boards to avoid catching any spoilers!

  22. You will love season 3 - so many ups and downs, have the hankies ready, too :)
I also watched the lot in one go with tea and knitting - perfect.
Then you have the Christmas Special to look forward to - and they're now beginning to film series 4...
    Love it.
(plus since you got a white Christmas in Texas and I'm in Switzerland and didn't, I'm jealous so liking having at least had Downton first... ;o)

  23. Hi! I love your photo album. I would love to know where I can find one that's similar! One of my New Year's resolutions is to print more photos. This one looks like it would give a little place to write about each photo too, which is so important.

Can't wait to see your projects!
the Christmas Special of Downton Abbey (that just came out for Christmas 2012) killed me. Love that show!!!
